VISIT THE NEW ABERFOYLE MILL WEBSITE HERE!

The delightful interior of the Aberfoyle Mill is a constant reminder of its history. The Mill was built in 1859 by a Scottish immigrant named George McLean. The village of Aberfoyle was named after a small village below the Trossachs mountains, about 40 km north of Glasgow, by another Scottsman named George MacFarlane. The Mill Originally functioned as a grist mill, powered by the pond situated at the back of the building. In 1867, the Mill won a gold medal, for its oatmeal at the World's Fair in Paris. The Mill functioned until the late 1920's.

In 1960 the Mill was purchased by the Owens family and after about 6 years of restoration, it was converted into one of the most unique restaurants in Canada.

Through a vestibule you enter the main dining area where the decor is made up of authentic antiques, one of the countries largest personal collections of Canadiana.

Take a tour of the Aberfoyle Mill's fine dining rooms and elegant grounds.

Our Murder Mystery Dinner Theatre, is a marriage of the Mill's fine cuisine and the entertainment of Ageless Arts.

Our guests arrive between 7:00 and 7:30 pm so the stage can be set for the 8:00pm start of our five course dinner and live theatre. Throughout the meal the entertainers with the help of the diners, act out a play, during which there is a murder. The audience is then challenged to determine the method, the motivation and the perpetrator of the crime.

Our dinner includes our feature appetizer, followed by a seasonal soup. Next each guest has their choice of our famous Caesar salad or a salad of mixed greens. For the main course each person will have a selection of three dishes to choose from. We will finish with dessert and coffee or tea.
Private shows would be arranged for groups of 30 or more any night of the week.

Since 1966 Guelph and area residents have appreciated great food and service offered in the classic atmosphere of an old mill.

The Aberfoyle Mill is known for its unique atmosphereand superb food and service.
